This exhibition explores the fascinating history of healthcare in prisons, from the work of early reformers like Elizabeth Fry to the experience of suffragettes force-fed in Scottish prisons, to the vital contribution that nurses make to prisoner health today. Prison Nursing Unlocked: A history of care and justice: exhibition is open Monday to Thursday (10am until 4pm) from 02 March to 30 September 2026. It can also be viewed as an online exhibition . Taking place within the Royal College of Edinburgh Library on South Oswald Road, the exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible toilet, and on the ground floor.
